All This Time: Nigel: Written with 'Landslide', 'Shed Your Skin' and 'Heaven Sent Me', but it was far too bloated rock when we first started doing it, the intro and outro guitar lines being played more for the Bernard Butler area. Improved it vastly by stripping it back and giving it it's little pyramid dynamic shape (with the peak being Jim's full on rock solo), and a heartbreakingly lovely vocal, but I think the damage had already been done, in terms of our not liking it, so it was earmarked swiftly for b-side ville.

Mea Culpa: Nigel: Always going to be a b-side I think. Started at the cottage, drums added later in London, vocals done at Warehouse, nothing we really love about it. The sound in the bridge and the outro is my favoured Jimmy Jones electric twelve string guitar, the only guitar I've ever really lusted after. I visited this one guitar shop in New York three or four times before finally taking the plunge just before our Shine show. Andy used this guitar a few times for 'Angel' on the French tour in 1999.
